Define Normal, by Julia Anne Peters, is about two teenage girls named Jasmine, (Jazz), and Antonia, (Tone), who thought they were completely different but learned that they are a lot more alike than they thought. In this book Jazz is a punk rock girl who smokes and has tattoo's. Tone is a good girl with perfect grades and never touched a cigarette When they both sign up for peer counselling they're two worlds collide finding things they never thought possible. Tone finds out that Jazz is rich and she hates her mom. She also finds out that Jazz Luther plays the piano. Jazz finds out that Tome has younger brothers and she is really poor. When Tone's mother is found in a hotel really drunk she needs to go through treatment Jazz's mother takes her and her brothers in and they become closer than ever. Meanwhile, while staying at Jazz's house Tone persuades her to play a piano concert, but the catch is she has to wear a dress. That isn't Jazz's style either. In the end Jazz plays the recital in her dress and nails it, and Tone gets her mother back and they remain best friends.
One of the main themes is that people aren't what they seem but if you try to open yourself up then you could be closer with someone you never thought possible. An example of this is when Tone was staying at Jazz's house she didn't trust her but she let Jazz in and Jazz helped her get over her mom. Another example of this is when Tone let Jazz teach her how to swim. The last example of this is when, after Tone's mom got out of treatment she thought she could never trust her mom again but her mom changed and they were closer than ever. The theme of this book is that if you open yourself up to people you never thought you would, those could be your strongest relationships.
I would recommend this book to other 7th graders because I believer you can learn a lot from this book. There isn't a squeal to this book but I would read it if there was. I would recommend it to girls only because it has a lot to do with girl problems. I think it's really good because it gives you a very good life lesson! Therefore, I would defiantly recommend this book.

One Direction Dialogue
Last year on a rainy night, in Sitka. My sister and mother were in the kitchen cooking spagetti. My friend, Sarah, and I were in my bedroom talking about One Direction. I was admiring the work that I did to put up all my One Direction posters. They covered the room. I could smell the food they were cooking.
"I've been looking online," I said.
"Ya, so?" Sarah replied.
"I was looking for One Direction tickets."
"Really?"
"Ya, they're really cheap," I replied.
"How much?"
"Only about $200 for an O.K. seat. Guess where the closest place to see them is?"
"Where?"
"Guess."
Sarah guessed,"Anchorage?"
"Nope, try again."
"Fairbanks?"
"O.K, one more guess."
"I don't know, just tell me," she said giving up.
"One Direction is going to Seattle!"
She said really excited, "We have to save up money!"
"The concert is July 28th next year."
"That's one day after my birthday."
"Let's start saving," I said.
"Great!"
It changed my life because it gives me a goal to set and achive. Everybody was so excited for me that my dad decided to pay for the plane trip. I felt like I could do something with my life. I learned that I can do anything. To this day we're still saving money to see out Idols.

Book Review 3: Once Upon a Marigold
I read the book Once Upon a Marigold by Jean Ferris. There are two main characters Their names are Chris, (or christian), and Marigold. In this book Ed, a troll, goes hunting one day and finds a child in the woods hiding from his parents. He took his in as his own child and raises him.
Eleven years later, the child, Christian, decides to send a letter across the lake via. pigeon mail. He sent it to the lonely princess. They talked back and forth and became friends. One year later, Ed, his foster father, tells him he needs to discover the world and move out. Chris decides to go over to the princesses castle to get a job as a servant While he's over there he became closer to the princess. He tries to stop the princess from getting married to Magnus. In the end princess Marigold doesn't have to marry Magnus and Chris discovers he's the lost Prince from Zandelphia and he ends up marrying Marigold.
The theme of this book is that you can do anything if you set your mind to it. The first example is when Chris becomes friends with Marigold even though she was poor and she was a princess. The second example is when Marigold protested against all the suitors to marry because she only wanted a real marriage You can do anything is the theme for this book.
I really like this book because it is how the people "back then" used to live. They send p-mail and live in a cave. They also talk funny and have servants I would recommend this book to anyone who loves fairy tales. This book takes you back to the old days and that's why I like it.
